tpc/WT Conducts Statewide Surveys of Republican Primary Voters in Critical Early States: Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina

the polling company, inc./WomanTrend recently conducted a series of statewide polls of Primary voters in three of the most critical early states: Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.  The questionnaires were conducted for private clients but included a publicly released question on the Republican Primary ballot.  tpc/WT data suggests the race remains "up-for-grabs" with less than two months to go before the early primary state, as each state had a different front-runner:  Herman Cain in Iowa, Mitt Romney in New Hampshire, and Newt Gingrich in South Carolina. 

The surveys were staggered over two weekends, with the Iowa study completed  on November 11-13, while the New Hampshire and South Carolina surveys ran parallel on 19-21.  Five hundred interviews were collected in each state and overall results have an +-4.4% margin of error.  Click the links below to read more about the released findings, including a Wall Street Journal op-ed based on the Iowa data and authored by Heather Higgins and Carrie Lukas.

Americans for Prosperity - Michigan Commissions tpc/WT Statewide Survey On Bridge Debate and Other Issues


On October 14-16, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend conducted a statewide survey of 600 registered voters in Michigan on behalf of the Michigan chapter of Americans for Prosperity.  The six question survey gauged voter opinion on the construction of a new Detroit bridge connecting Michigan and Canada.  Additional questions probed public sentiment on making Michigan Right-to-Work, teachers unions, gas tax, and property taxes.  Visit AFP - Michigan on the web here and read the full survey release and topline here.

Western Republican Leadership Conference features Kellyanne Conway on Panel Discussion On Latest Political Trends


On October 18-21, 2011, the Western Republican Leadership Conference hosted a three-day event including a CNN-sponsored Presidential debate and feautring Republican candidates, operatives, leaders, media and elected officials from the Western region and United States.  Kellyanne Conway, President and CEO of the polling company, inc./WomanTrend, joined a panel discussion titled "GOP Report Card: How Are the Candidates Faring Among Voters?" alongside Glenn Bolger from Public Opinion Strategies and moderated by Tom McDevitt from the Washington Times.  Conway talked about the pulse of the electorate and President Obama's re-election chances heading into the 2012 campaign.  The WRLC conference occured at the Venetian in Las Vegas, and the GOP Debate was housed in the adjacent Sands Expo Center.  Read more about the WRLC here, and click here to see the event's agenda.

A recent survey commissioned by Americans for Limited Government examines voter awareness and attitudes toward the National Labor Relations Board.  the polling company, inc./WomanTrend conducted the nationwide telephone poll of 805 registered voters on behalf of ALG from August 19-23, 2011. The questionnaire probed Americans' views on topics ranging from the federal government's relationship with small businesses, and labor unions before moving into a specific series of questions on the NLRB. Americans for Limited Government (ALG) is a non-partisan, nationwide network committed to advancing free-market reforms, private property rights and core American liberties.  Among the key findings were that 55% of respondents thought it was a bad idea that the NLRB is "governed by five political appointees whose terms last four years."  Follow the link here to see full topline data from the survey, and read more about the important findings here.  Click here to learn more about Americans for Limited Government.

Generation Opportunity Launch Features the polling company, inc./WomanTrend Young Adults Survey

Kellyanne Conway Speaks at American Legislative Exchange Council's Annual Meeting in New Orleans

On August 3-6, 2011, the American Legislative Exchange Council met in New Orleans for one of the nation's most prestigious state-level conferences. the polling company, inc./WomanTrend CEO & President, Kellyanne Conway, joined the event as part of a workshop on fiscal policy as well a session on Federalism.  Conway discussed how to best acquiant and message to Americans about concepts of federalism and states rights.  ALEC has been a leader in legislative policy for 38 years, its mission is to enlist legislators from different states to advance the Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism, and individual liberty.  Speakers at the annual meeting included Lousiana Gov. On June 10, 2011, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend President and CEO Kellyanne Conway delivered an instruction lecture on "Conservative Messaging 101," relying on years of primary research to build a lexicon of victory. Kellyanne Conway Speaks at Metropolitan Republican Club Dinner

On Wednesday, May 18, 2011, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend President & CEO Kellyanne Conway spoke at the Metropolitan Republican Club annual dinner in New York City. The event also featured remarks from freshman Republican Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (NY-19).  Conway's talk focused on the latest developments in national politics as well as a look at the hot button issues and races in New York, including the special election in New York's Twenty-Sixth Congressional District. Members of the New York Metropolitcan Club share a common goal of supporting New York City Republican candidates and ideals. Kellyanne Conway Joins Prestigious Presidential Issues Panel

On May 5th, 2011, Washington & Lee University hosted its Spring Kickoff for its historical 2012 Mock Convention.  The kickoff event featured a Presidential Issues panel discussion where the polling company, inc./WomanTrend President & CEO Kellyanne Conway joined a group of top pundits including: Rhodes Cook, Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia, and Mike Allen of Politico.  The event was held in the Wilson Concert Hall on Washington & Lee's campus in Lexington, Virginia.  Panelists looked at the political landscape heading into the 2012 elections, examining the Republican field as well as the vulnerabilities and opportunities that could strengthen or hinder President Obama's re-election bid.  Washington & Lee University's Mock Convention is one of the oldest mock conventions in the country and distinguished by its accuracy - boasting only two errors since 1948.  Read more about the Mock Convention here, and the Presidential Issues Panel by clicking the stories here and here.

Lamontagne Looks to Play An Influential Role In New Hampshire

Former Gubernatorial candidate and runner-up in the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate Ovide Lamontagne has generated headlines recently due to a string of moves that have established him as one of the most influential conservative voices in the Presidential bellweather state of New Hampshire.  Lamontagne, a former tpc/WT client, has been hosting a series of house parties featuring potential 2012 Republican Presidential candidates.  Americans for Prosperity recently named Lamontagne as "Conservative of the Year."  Fueled by grassroots conservatives and the backing of the Tea Party, Lamontagne surged in the final few weeks of the primary before Kelly Ayotte's narrow victory.  Read more about the latest Lamontagne developments in the New York Times and POLITICO.

Survey Finds Majority of Americans Do Not Want Federal Funding For Family Planning Services to Go To Abortion Providers

the polling company, inc./WomanTrend surveyed 1,000 American adults on behalf of the Susan B. Anthony List, finding that a 54% majority did not want tax dollars given to family planning organizations that provide abortions.  The Susan B. Anthony List commissioned the study as part of its ongoing efforts to de-fund organizations like Planned Parenthood.  Whether the federal funds given to these family planning organizations is fungible has emerged as a focal point of the ongoing budgetary disputes in Washington.  The Susan B. Independent Women's Voice Commissions tpc/WT Research Project in Wisconsin

In March 2011, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend conducted a survey of 400 "high propensity" voters as well as a focus group comprised of Wisconsin residents from across the state.  The research tested the attitudes, perceptions and opinions of Wisconsin residents in response to Governor Scott Walker's proposed changes to the benefits given to public unions.  The project tested arguments from both sides of the debate, finding the two sides to be very polarized on whether or not to change the benefits given to government workers. Independent Women's Voice is a 501(c)4 nonpartisan, nonprofit organization for mainstream women, men and families, and is the sister organization of the Independent Women's Forum. Kellyanne Conway Participates in "Gender in Political Psychology" Conference Hosted at CAWP

On Friday, March 4, 2011, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend President & CEO Kellyanne Conway spoke at a political roundtable at the "New Research In Gender & Political Psychology Conference" held at the Center for Women and Politics at Rutgers University. Kellyanne was joined on the panel by Celinda Lake, President of Lake Research Partners, and co-author of What Women Really Want, as well as other distinguished women in politics including Candy Straight and Manolo Gonzalez-Estay.  Debbie Walsh, Director of the Center for American Women and Politics and Kelly Dittmar, a CAWP Research Associate. Columbia Law School Chapter of The Federalist Society Invites Kellyanne Conway to Address Students

On Thursday, December 2nd, Human Life International - America released the results of a polling company, inc./WomanTrend survey revealing womens' attitudes and apprehensions about the use of oral contraceptives.  The survey was conducted from November 24-30, 2010, and contained nineteen substantive and eleven demographic questions. The Kitchen Cabinet Commissions the polling company, inc./WomanTrend to Conduct a Nationwide Survey of Women

A new poll of 600 women, conducted by the polling company, inc./WomanTrend from September 30 to October 3 on behalf of The Kitchen Cabinet, revealed that 56% of women considered the administration's signature health care reform a "failure".
